was erected especially for Mr. Parr
and is one of the largest and most

for feed and carriages, Jim means
business—which is to say ho wiil
keep the best livery stable in Deni-
son or he will keep none. He now
has a good supply of line carriages,
good teams,a good stable and a good
location—is a good livery man, a
good business man—in fact is a good
clever gentlemen and everything
about him is as good as can be. The

school. At about 9 o’clock a. m.,
they ussemblod at tho school build-
ing, not iu tho pursuit ol knowledge,
howevor, but pleasure. It was in
pursuance ot arrangements previous-
ly made, for a grand public school
pic-nic.
Tho procession, about 250 strong,
under the command of tho entire
corps of teachers, marched directly
lo a beautiful and romantic spot,the
properly of Sam Cook, esq., just
west ot Hint gentleman’s elegant res-
idence. Arriving at tho pic-nic
grounds, tho pupils, under tho di-
rection ot their respective teachors,
selected suitablo rallying points to
which they could bo brought at a
moments notice, utter which they
indulged freely in such amusemonts
as tho occasion suggested.
Tho pupils deported themselves
admirably, both on the line of march
and at tho grounds, no incident hav-
ing occurrod during the day that
Col. Lem Rcvuokls, senator from Pano-
la comity Chickasaw nation, was in the
city yesterday, a guest of George Bennett.
James Bendy, of the U. S Revenue de-
partment arrived in the city yesterday
from Dallas. He informs the Herald
thre was great excitement In Dallas when
he left over a supposed plot to rescue the
train robbers.
