Tunnel Through Selkirks.
The Canadian Pacific railroad is now
-engaged in the eonstructon of a dou-
ble track tunnel five miles long
through the Selkirk mountains at
Rogers Pass, B. C. This will be the
longest railroad tunnel in America, ex-
ceeding in length the Hoosac tunnel of
tbe Boston A Maine railroad by about
fourteen hundred feet
In adJjtioiLMuiU unusual length,
It is of special interest because of iho
fact that it is being driven from a
pioneer tunnel parallel to and entire-
ly outside of the limits of the final
