Season
Large Crowd Expected
At Golf Greens Today
re-
playing their last game of the
eeason, the Colts tied the Rig
Spring junior high team <i to tt
in « fast and furious battle of
the gridiron Thursday evening
at Big Spring.
It was the last game for LE,

LT, Charles Thompson; C, Sain
Mannering; RG, Robert. Hin-
shaw; RT, Jimmy Heard: RE.
Plus Ashley; QB, Hilly Hooper;
FB. Charles Curry; RH, Bud
. Curtis; and LH. Barto Spradlin
who have completed the season
and next year will find a big
percent of them on the Mus-
tang squad.
According to a report from
Lake Sweetwater, a large crowd
of golfers is expected on the
greens today.
During the past week, it
seems that golf was an un-in-
teresting game for only a small
group were seen playing, but
today should produce better re-
sults.

Looks like the Eagles of Abi-
lene have the same two foes to
contend with as we have. While
the Mustangs are engaged in an
eye for eye, tooth for tooth, com-
bat with San Angelo’s Bobcats.
Abilene will be giving the Big
Spring Steers a “working over".
Then on Thanksgiving. Novem-
ber 28. Abilene will take on the
Bobcats, and Sweetwater, the
Steers.

Royal Ambassadors
Meet Friday Night
Royal Ambassadors of the
Mountains and valleys rtf
the Southwestern part, of New
Mexico was the scene of a
four-day deer hunting trip for
four Sweetwater business men,
their wives, and companions
from neighboring towns.
Alhong with Roy Mathews, Ed
Sanford. Dr. P. T. Quasi, and
Vernon CaUthern of Sweetwa-
ter, were H. A., Dwight, and L.
I). Gray from Blackwell; J. W.
Thompson from Sundown, and
Clarence Armstrong front l-ev-
ellantl, who, with their wives,
were successful 'in bagging six
nice-sized bucks.
Most spectacular bag of the
hum was when one of the hoys
encountered not, a deer, but a
giant brown hear, as Hold by
Roy Mathews;
"Weather was fine that day
and we were out for some deer.
While Cauthem and 1 were
searching out one part of a
valley, Thompson was coming
around from the other side and
Sanford was tip on a hill trying
his luck there.
“About two hours passed,
Then Cautherfi and I heard a
shot ring nut from the hilltop,
followed by three quirk ones.
After finding our way to the
top of the rugged hill, we found
Hanford waving his gun in the
air and shouting, “I have killed
a hear", hut. we could see no
bear around. It took only a few
seconds to notice hushes part-
ing as the stricken animal
plunged through them, and we
could hear his heavy breathing
and knew he was shot through
the lungs so we kept, a safe dis-
tance, but followed behind him;’’
Matthews continued, “Going as
far as lit? could he fell. Then,
Sandford fired the btillet. in him
which finished him off.”
It took six men to carry the j
i bear out of that canyon, for ac- j
