an exchange of gifts from a
Christmas tree were features
of ths Business and Profession-
al women's club annual Christ-
mas banquet last night.
The menu Included a fruit
cup, tomato and lettuce salad,
turkey and dressing, cranberry
sauce, English peas and can-
dled yams, hot rolls and raisin
ple‘ and coffee.
. Decorations to carry out the
seasonal theme were pyracan-
tha berries, miniature Christ-
mas trees, poinsetita and can-
dles. Mrs. Ruby Majors was in
charge of the decoration com-

len. A Christmas story was read
by Mis. Wells, accompanied by
Miss Alien.
Mrs. Majors, as Santa Claus,
passed out the presents, assist-
ed by Emma Lee McKnlght.
Messengers to distribute the
gifts were Ruth Stockton, Mabel
Wade and Pauline Hallow.
The executive committee of
the Fi and PW club voted to
send a “ten-in-one package of
food to Europe, specifying only
that it he sept to Belgium of
France. The package, prepared
by Care, a non-profit organize-1
tion, will contain meats, stews, J
hashes, cereal and biscuits,
sugar and candy, fruit jam aqd
uuddlng, vegetables, cocoa, cof-
fee and beverage powders, e
vaporated milk, preserved hut
ter. cheese, and such miscel
laneous products as soap, chew
ing gum. matches and so on
This food will feed a family of
four a supleincntal 2,800 calory
meal each day for two weeks.

Room of the Blue Bonnet hotel
from 8 until 10 Tuesday nighf
given by Mr. and Mrs. Sid Wells
in honor of their son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Robert Wells.

married in Austin and now' live

at 7 p. in. at the Scott hotel—
and for the flrd time, children
of members will attend the par-

The party will include a ban- j
quet and a visit from Santa |
Claus for the kids. Each mem-
ber of a family attending is to
bring a gift, with a 25 cent lim-
it. which will he distributed by
Santa.

in charge of entertainment: Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Jordan are in
charge of refreshments and Mr.
and Mrs. Ed Koonce are in
charge of decorations.

served to the guests.
