Ralls Mayor and Council Members Sworn in at Regular Meeting held May 20th
The Ralls City Council meeting was conducted on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Ralls Storm Shelter. Former Mayor Jim McDuff
gave the Oath of Office to the new Ralls Mayor, one new council member and 2 re-elected council members. Pictured above

White River Board okays
TP&W Grant for ATV Park
The White River Water
District voted unanimously
to move forward with the
Texas Parks and Wildlife
Grant for a ATV Park at
White River lake at their reg-
ular meeting April 21st. Af-
ter the vote by the board to
go ahead with the ATV Park
grant Phil Elledge presented
4 plans to the White River
Board to consider where to
put the park. After consid-
eration by the Board it was
determined to put the Park
on the East Side Plan #2. If
you are interested you can
view the plan at White River
Office. Allan Adams made
the motion to continue with
the ATV Park and Sammie
Palmer seconded the motion.
The Board also consid-
ered and took action con-
cerning Johnson & Pace
Engineer Phil Elledge Up-
date Report on the Texas
Water Development Board
and Texas Department of
Agriculture Disaster Re-
lief Applications and Well
Field Progress. Also, cur-
rent update on the Board sta-
tus from TWDB and future
Projects Regarding TWDB
Proposals.
Phil Elledge comment-
ed that the new Crosbyton
well had produced good
water quality. Hopefully the
new Crosbyton well will be
turned on next week and the
electricity and Scada still
needs to be done.
Environmental studies
have not been approved on
the three new wells and af-
ter approved will have to be
published in the newspaper
The North Well on the
Sessom is good and had a
camera down it gives infor-
mation that maybe a 140 gal-
lon per minute and the water
quality is good. White River
will try to run the second well
this week, Shane Jones went
over a pump chart with the
directors. Jones commented
that May through August
will be 50% of the water us-
age. James Reynolds asked if
he is choking the wells down
and not having to choke
down too much. Shane said
they are experiencing a slight
decline due to irrigation ac-
tivities surrounding White
River Well Field. Jones said
he will continue to monitor
the Well Field.
In other action by the Di-
rectors, Lance Morris made a
motion and seconded by Al-
lan Adams to charge a $30
Fee for Services Regarding
District Building Permits.
Motion carried unanimously.
White River Lake Man-
ager Tom Fulton told the
SPAG Representative to be at Crosby
Co. Senior Citizens Center May 29th
There will be a SPAG representative at the
Crosby County Senior Citizens Center at 119 N.
Berkshire in Crosbyton on May 29th to answer any
questions related to Medicare, prescription plans or
issues, and benefits.
Mark your calendar and make plans to attend
this very informative meeting.

AUSTIN — House
Speaker Joe Straus on May
14 said the Texas House of
Representatives would pro-
pose a budget next year that
uses all of the money in the
state highway fund for trans-
portation instead of sending
chunks of it to other state
agencies.
Taxes and fees such as
the gas tax and fees on driv-
ers’ licenses go into the state
also there.
Tom also reported that
there will be another Road
Rally at the Lake this sum-
mer.

Bridgette Robertson, Crosbyton Senior Citizens Director,
accepts a Crosbyton Lions Club donation from Lion Na-
than Boardman. The donation will help provide meals
for the senior meal program.
