C. A. Mischke local manager for Firestone Service Stores is heartily sup-
porting the N. R. A. and has put six new employes to work.
Mischke issued the following statement: "We believe that the President's
plan is the best solution to our unemployment problem. If men are not work-
ing they surely cannot spend money while if they get money they surely wi"
spend it. We have stretched a point in employing a large number and we
know that as fast as the receive their pay thej will spend it. I hope the Gov-
ernment will enforce" this act . . . We will quickly have good times. Some em-
ployers think this is a gamble with the employers putting up the stake; it is
not a gamble but an investment. We employers who have the money to invest
in this "personnel stock" will more than double our investment. I see immedi-
ate success of the plan if every employer cooperates."
