Polly of the Circus
Polly of the Circus was the of-
fering at the Temple Theatre Satur-
day playing to almost capacity busi-
ness at both matinee and evening per
formances It is hardly necessary to
review the play as it has been re-
peatedly reviewed and most people
interested have seen it The produc-
ing cast of Saturday night was only
medium and but for the strength of
the play itself in some of the scents
it would hardly have gone Hiss Olp
as Polly was the only exception and
is a really capable actress with a
good part The second scene of the
first act and the second act of the
play are very strong but taken as a
whole the play as presented here
vHl in no way compare with The
Climax The Music blaster or a
number of otler plays at present in
vogue
Repertoire Starts Tonight
Miss Gertrude Ewing and her com
pany of players in repertoire will ope
an engagement at the Temple this
evening appearing in Man Turned
Devil a lurid enough title all right
and the engagement will continue
three nights It is announced that
Indies will be admitted free tonight
under the usual conditions Miss Ew-
ing has been a frequent visitor to Pal-
estine and the people are familiar
with her plays
Rees Trio at the Lyric
The New Lyric Theater did big busi-
ness Saturday afternoon and night

OConnell says The Rees Trio musi-
cians and equilibrists will be the
vaudeville offering for the first three
days of this week This is one of the
highest salad ied acts on the Lyric
circuit They have only recently fin-
ished on the Majestic circuit where
they were headliners on every bill
having come direct from Australia to-
go on the Majestic time They play
both classical and popular airs on
many different musical instruments
and Miss Rees as an equilibrist is
second to none Packed houses have
greeted them wherever they have ap-
peared
The films scheduled for projection
tonight are all excellent subjects The
first is a Biograph entitled The
Message of the Violin a recent re-
lease of this company which proves
that true love is always triumphant
The other reel contains two Selig
subjects Oh You Skeleton and the
Ghost of the Oven two comedy
gems
Interest continues big in the premi-
ums to be distributed to Lyric patrons
on January 2nd and coupons from
Lyric admission tickets are becoming
more in demand every day since the
public have seen what handsome
prizes are to be given away
