terest Manifested Sunday
In spite of tbreatouing weather the
Christian church was well filled Sun-
day morning at the Initial service of
the protracted meeting to b o held
during the presont week The meet-
ing was held in tho church on account
of Inclement weather It being the
intontion howevor to have sorvicei
each night In the tabernacle when
conditions will permit otherwise in
tho church building
Rev L D Anderson delivered a
telling and eloquent appeal to his
hearers on tho passages fonnd in
Proverbs 113 and Daniel 123 fie
that wlnneth souls Is wise and He
who turnoth many to righteousness
shall shine as the stars forever and
ever
Tho speaker impressed on his con
grcation 1 That God has a dounito
plan 2 His purpose is the salvation
of tho human race 3 Tho agencies

twelve chosen disciples c We who
are living today In burning eloquent
words the congregation was impressed
with tho heritage of responsibility de-
volving Upon them to farther Gods
plan that tho greatest work of all
time was that of saving the souls of
men that failure to engago in this
work raoant insincerity of faith and
callousness as to tho welfare of thoso
we love that the crying need of tho
christian world today aro those who
enter heart soul and mind into the
saving of man from tho consequences
of his sins
Then came a strong appeal to eacb
member of the church to do his doty
in tho work of tho meeting Tho
speaker urged that tho only real and
lasting happiness lay in eradicating sin
from the world and advocated a
closer study of tho scriptures in order
to gain a nioro thorough knowledge of
what Gods plans were

one lady came forward transferring
her membership from a neighboring

manifested at tho night service evi
denced in a crowdod church and a
moro intense interest on tho part of
the audience From the second chap
ter of Hebrews and the first four
verses Brother Anderson preached a
powerful sermon both in its appeal to
obedicdee to the domands of tho gos
pel and in his earnest warning to those
who neglected so great salvation
There will be a meeting each night
this wook either in tho church or the
tabernacle Everyone is cordially in-
vited to attend and any who will help
in tho singing will be especially wel-
come
Things are Rushing
A Herald man visited the packing
shed this afternoon and found things
In a dead rush About two hundred
men women and children are given
employment and they aro all busy
More could bo employed Today two
cars of peaches have been packed and
shipped and tho shipments will in-
crease from day to day until tho bulk
of the Elbertas bavo been shipped
Hundreds of bushels of peaches have
been culled out and they aro oxcellent
for canning preserving etc and can
be had cheap
A New Front
A now front is being put in tho Hin
zlo building occupied by tho Orescent
Jewolry Store and the building is be-
ing improved in othor ways
