Dec. 6 1-8 p.m
The entire family is invited to take in
the fresh air and beautiful surround-
ings during the Holiday Kickoff.
Enjoy a fun-filled holiday-themed day
and evening with caroling, festive
crafts, games, touch tables, bird
watching, family activities and much
more. There will be a competition for
best decorated kid's bike and the kids
can have their photo taken with
Santa (bring your own camera).
Once the sun sets, join us for a
special holiday stargazing program.

A Simple Christmas at
Brazos Bend State Park
Dec. 6 3-7 p.m.
Escape the hustle and bustle of the
season and enjoy the simple life:
making s'mores, Dutch oven cooking,
children's crafts and Victorian-era
games, hayrides and more, plus a
visit from a "Southern Santa." Cap off
the evening with "The Brazos River
Pickers" old-time, bluegrass band.
Refreshments available. Bring a
picnic supper to enjoy while you
listen to the performance at the
outdoor amphitheater. Accessible

Cedar Hill State Park
Caroling Through Penn Farm
Dec. 13 6:30-8 p.m.
Take a lantern-lit tour of Penn Farm.
As we explore this historic farm, you
will hear stories of the Penn family
and their pioneering spirit. Learn
what life on the farm was like for this
family as they farmed and raised
livestock for over a century. The tour
will wrap up with a Christmas carol
sing-a-long around the campfire
while enjoying hot chocolate, hot
apple cider, cookies and other

Doctors Creek Unit
8th Annual Christmas in the Park
Dec. 12-13 5-10 p.m.
Visitors will find the park and the
entire campground decorated to
match the beauty of the holidays.
Those joining us on Saturday
evening from 6 to 9 p.m. will also
find refreshments and have the
opportunity to visit with Santa
(remember to bring your camera for
pictures). Sponsored by the Friends
of Doctors Creek. $5 per vehicle.

2nd Annual Piney Woods Christmas
Dec. 19-20
Come experience a Piney Woods
Christmas at Daingerfield State Park.
Take a drive though the park to view
sites decorated by our campers. Stop
by Little Pine General Store (a Texas
State Park store) to purchase gifts
and souvenirs. Santa will be here
taking your last minute requests just
in time for Christmas! Refreshments
and treats will be served.

Thanksgiving Bake Sale
Nov. 28-29 9 a.m. - Noon
Visit the Devil's Sinkhole Visitor
Center and stock up on delicious
holiday goodies, baked by local
residents. While picking up your
snacks, you may even learn a few
things about the sinkhole and its
residents. You'll also find a great
selection of unique gift items in the

Dinosaur Valley State Park
Christmas in the Valley
Dec. 13 7 p.m.
Bring the decorations and show your
creative side in decorating your
campsite! Campers may start deco-
rating in the morning at 10 a.m.,
judging will begin at dusk. The
winner will have that night's campsite
fees waived. The park store will also
be hosting the tree lighting at 7 p.m.
where the winner of the campsite
decorating contest will be an-
nounced. Rumors are "Ol' Saint Nick"
might just show up for a visit. Don't

Join park staff on an exhilarating
hike to the summit of Enchanted
Rock. Once at the top, enjoy a reading
of the classic, How the Grinch Stole
Christmas! Get in the spirit and wear
a "Grinch Stocking Cap"; bring your
own or pick one up in the park store.
