First Fall Foliage Fly-In deemed soaring success
Five helicopters and over 32 aircraft—including 21 flown
in from parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico-
—joined the First Annual Fall Foliage Fly-In on Saturday,
and the aerial show was well received by visitors and natives
alike.
Among the amazing flying machines on display were (at
top) an Experimental aircraft owned by Robert Sehluter-
man; below (left to right), a 1971 TS-11 Iskra ground attack
fighter from Poland, owned by Liden Aviation of Liberal, KS;
a Piper Saratoga owned by Raymond Henry of Lefors; an
Experimental gyrocopter owned by William Clark of Miami;
and bottom (left to right), a Stearman owned by Don Johnson
of Amarillo; and a Piper J-3 Cub owned by Gary Bently of
Shattuek, OK; a T-6 flown by Bill Elkins of Amarillo.
