Oath having been made as required
by law, you are hereby commanded to
summon Thos. O. Carruth, by mak-
ing publication of this Citation on<?e
in each week for eight successive
weeks previous to the return day here-
of, in some newspaper published in
your county, if’There be a newspaper
published therein, but if not, then in
any newspaper published in the First
Judicial District; but if there be no
newspaper published,An said Judicial
District, then in a newspaper .publish-
ed in the nearest District to said First
Judicial District, to appear at the next
regular term of the District Court of
Orange county, to be holden at the
Court House thereof, in Orange, on the
’ first Monday in May^ A. I). 1909, the
isame being the 3rd day of May, A. D
1909, then and there to answer a pe-
tition filed in said Court on the 6th
day of February, A. D. tf09, in a suit,
numbered on the docket of said Court
No. 3014, wherein Mrs. Fannie I. Car
ruth is plaintiff, and Thos. 0. Car-’
ruth is defendant, and said petition
alleging that on or about the 11th day
of January, 1897, plaintiff was lawfully
married to defendant in Wharton
county, Texas, and continued to live
with him as his wife until about the
15th day of June, 1903, when defend-
ant abandoned plaintiff, leaving her
to earn her own support, and has ever
since said time remained away from
plaintiff and during all of said time
has failed to care’ for plaintiff and to
furnish anything toward her support,
but has wholly abandoned her, and
has left her for three years and more
with intention of abandonment.
I That during all the time plaintiff
and defendant lived together plaintiff
conducted herself with propriety, man-
aged the' hum ehold affairs of her sard

and at all times treated her said hus-
band with kindness and forbearance.

day Forenoon.
M. J. McCann and Mi$s Bertha Pa-

riage in this city this forenoon, the

only a few friends present. The

plaintiff therefrom, and now unlaw-
fully withholds from plaintiff the pos-
session thereof, to his damage in the

Since the commencement of drill*
ing for oil on the Chas. Block place,
five miles northeast of Orange, there
has been an*increased activity in real
estate deals in that section of the
county.
When the Orange County Oil com-
pany was first organized a ten acre
tract of land was sold by Joe Ed-
dleman to a party of ten, the con-
sideration for this land being a thous-
and dollars.
There have been also a number of
other deals in land in the vicinity
of the well, property changing hi
at prices ranging from fifty dollars
per acre to’a hundred and fifty dol-
lars per acre.
County Tax Assessor Geo. A. Fore-
man, Jr , now has on the market at
fifteen acre tract of oil land adjoin-
ing the oil well, that is, the nearest
acre being about a hundred feet from
the site of drilling operations, while
the farthest acre is about four hun-
dred-anil fifty feet. ■
Mr. Foreman lias already disposed
of several sections of this tract of
land at prices ranging from a hun-
dred anil fifty dollars to two -hun-
dred dollars per acre.
