J0ed IQ Jeremiah U chapter
Verethis language is found
of the Gentiles that can can cause
rain or can the heavens give
showers and then the prophet
concluded thus Are not thou lie
O Lord onr God i e liethat
canes rain c therefore we will
wait upon thee tor thou has made
all these things
But you might ask would our ef-
forts deay the rain I answer
without hesitating yes because had
He that hast made all these
things sent you rain you would
have been wedded to such fnily
and Ue works only for his glory
Suppose some one had what he
considered a specific for some dis
ease from which you were a suffer
er and desired you to test it du > on
suppose he would be willing that
you should at the same time con
tiuue some other treatment Of
course uotlet the other and not
his speeifiegot the glory Further-
more it is writte i Whatsoever is
noc of faith is sin and this action
of trying to coerce the rain was not
of faith in God but in human tkill
Again it is written in Jeremiah 5
chapter 2t and 25 verses Neith
er say they in their heart let us
fear the Lord that giveth rain
And reserveth with us the appoint-
ed weeks of hat vest Your iuiqui
