Accompanying information: The Texas Journal of Genealogy and History began publication in 2002 as an outgrowth of the Walter M. and Evalynn Burress Chair of Genealogy and American History, endowed in the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom at Howard Payne University. The journals included articles from guest lecturers (at fall and spring seminars), as well as papers written by Academy of Freedom students. Dr. Robert Mangrum edited and directed the publication, beginning in 2002 until 2007.
