"Why," he said between spasms of laughter. "We
got aboard a yacht anchored a little way out and from
it we boarded an ocean liner bound for England."
"I thought perhaps Jonah had you swallowed. I
knew he would throw you up as soon as he found out
who you were, so I spun around in a sea-plane waiting
for you, then went on to Cuba."
"I was out of the country by that time." He sighed
a big fat sigh. "I wish to God I had stayed there. It's
the only time I have drawn a free breath since I ran
into you."
