Smallpox Is More Virulent.
Dr. Win. Pannill, county health
officer of Navarro county, was in
Ft. Worth last Saturday and gave
the Dallas News correspondent the
following statement:
“There is no doubt but that
there is an epidemic of smallpox in
Texas, and 1 heartily agree with
State Health Officer Blunt that the
only way to stamp out the disease
in this state is by general and uni-
versal vaccination. The type of
the disease has changed. It has
become more virulent. The man
who opposes vaccination, in my
opinion, is au enemy to society
and knows nothing of the results
following a successful vaccination
when exposed to contagion and in-
fection. A homeopathic physician
in Corsicana called on me to i-ee a
case of smallpox and agreed in the
diagnosis. I treated the case and j ness.
