Gamma Iota Chapter of the
Delta Kappa Gamma So-
ciety, International honorary
society of Women Educators,
met at the Hale County State
Bank in Plainview on Satur-
day. A coffee was served by
hostesses Henrietta Norris,
chairman, Virginia Bennett,
Paula Finney, Sue Stanford,
Dorothy Tullis, Mae Ragle,
and Virginia Butler.
Mrs. Hazel Douglas was
song leader following the
coffee. The Professional Af-
fairs Committee was in
charge of the program, with
Alta Tate serving as chair-
man. The theme of the
program was “Professional
Reflections of Teaching.”
Mrs. Tate introduced Ho-
ward Pollard. Superinten-
dent of Tulia Public Schools,
as guest speaker on the panel
that gave “Professional Re-
flections of Teaching.” Mrs.
Peggie Bush and Mrs. Fran-
ces Mitchell were Gamma
lota members of the panel.
Mrs. Hazel Douglas gave a
report of the Achievement
Awards Committee with the
runners up being Lucile
Flowers and Louise Joachim.
Mrs. Helen Smith presented
the Achievement Award for
Gamma lota Chapter to Mrs.
Frances Mitchell of Tulia.
Mrs. Fula B. Pyeatt and
Julia members presented
Scholarship posters to re-
mind the members that
February is the last month to
apply for scholarships.

University students has been
added to the WTSU Books
for Buffs drive since its

Swisher Electric Cooperative. Inc., S. W.
2nd Street in Tulia. Texas announces the
construction of one (400’)span of 69,000 volt
transmission line and a 3.750 kva. 69 12470 -
7200 volt substation located on a tract of land
out of the N. W. corner of Section 20. Blk. M6,
at the intersection of highway 86 and F. M.
road 1424, 8 miles west of Tulia. Texas.
These facilities along with other low voltage
distribution lines will make it possible for the
Cooperative to reduce the load on the existing
Center F’lains. Wheeler and Kaffir substations.
This will provide additional capacity to those
existing service now being served in the area
and new consumers as may be required.
If there are any comments on the enviromen-
tal aspect of this construction they should be
submitted in writing to the Cooperative either
at its office in Tulia or to Post Office Box 67.
