Nosy Noter would like to congratulate Mr. G.W.
"Dink" Ramsey of Strawn. Mr. Ramsey was 102 on
March 23. May 1970 be your most wonderful year, Mr.
Ramsey; filled with love and peace.
This two over centennial birthday reminds the
Nosy Noter that the Palo Pinto County Centennial
flicks which were cancelled because of the snow
are now on again. They will be shown at 7:30 p.m.
on Friday, April 3 at the Palo Pinto School.
Booster Club is sponsoring. They are quite good.
Don't miss the S.C. Abernathy Sr. color production.
Interesting points are faces, unveiling of the
monument, faces, the parade in Mineral Wells, faces,
the intervening flood, faces, fireworks and pageant,
faces, towns and celebrations, and more faces.
If you were there in 1957 you'll remember, if
you weren't there, better come see what it looked
like.
ON APRIL 4, polls will be open for election of
school trustees. See page 1 for candidates.
PS: The Centennial Flicks are rated tripple "G"
for tripple great. Come see, come laugh, come smile,
come remember!

Jasper Jellyfish is a salt water
fellow. However, somehow, he has been
stranded on the beach of Palo Pinto
Lake.
How did it happen? Who will save
him?
Actually, Herman Crab says it's a
very long and complicated story. As
soon as he and Henrietta have finished
their summer home, he will sit down
and tell the entire thing to us.
Meanwhile, you try to guess. Any-
one between the age of six and 21
can send their guess of how Jasper
Jellyfish got to Palo Pinto Lake to
the Tributary, Box 41, Palo Pinto,
Texas, 76072.
Herman and Henrietta will read all
of the mail. Cive your name, age, and
address.

New Businesses
Only about 50% of the
registered vehicles have
been inspected. Deadline
for inspection of motor ve-
hicles is April 15.
"Unless there is a rapid
increase of inspections, it
appears that many vehicles
will not be inspected be-
fore the deadline," said
Capt. Alan Johnson, motor
vehicle inspection super-
visor of the Texas Depart-
ment of Public Safety.
"Any driver operating a
vehicle displaying an in-
spection sticker on the
right-hand side of the
windshield after April 15,
will be operating in vio-
lation of the inspection
law," Johnson said.
He noted that this will
be the last April 15 in-
spection deadline, because
of the Texas Legislature's
adoption of a year-around
inspection program. The
Sept. 1, 1969 action will
establish an anniversary
month for each vehicle to
be inspected and prevent
the log-jam of over six
million vehicles to be in-
spected at one time.
The new inspection sticker
will be placed on the left-
hand side of the windshield.
The number of the month in
which the vehicle was in-
spected will be on the
sticker.
New businesses are burst-
ing out with spring over
the county.
Mrs. John Hammon has open-
ed a new beauty shop lo-
cated at the Catalpa Motel.
She did a very nice job
on this editor's hair
which probably proves that
she can make any old mop
look good.
What would really help
would be a plastic surgeon!
Now, don't get uptight,
Sherry Thornton. I fully
intend to rotate shops
every big holiday when I
have the mop scoured.
Mrs. Hammon is most pleas-
ant, and I hope our three
beuticians, the third being
Mrs. Medders, of course,
will get together and start
a beutify Palo Pinto cam-
paign.
At PK Lake, Mrs. Cayce
has moved across the lane
from her old location at
Rainbow Lodge. She will be
selling some cosmetics made
of mink oil, which is sup-
posed to be the nearest
thing to human. Wow! So,
now you can have a mink
coat, a mink toothbrush and
a mink oil skin.
Seriously, after much re-
search, mink oil is one of
the neater things they've
found. You should go by and
let Mrs. Cayce tell you all
about it.
Boomtown Garage, owned and
operated by Ernest Adrion

block.north of Red's Drive

First, to let my feminine
preferences out before
speaking of cars and ma-
chinery, let me say that
E.A. has one of the nicest
wood-burning stoves in the
county.
My only complaint is that
he keeps no ashtrays and,
as any man in a garage,
seems to think the floor
will serve the purpose.
Now, with the esthetics
Trailer spaces, cabins,
bait, gas, and groceries.
Wet and dry boat sotrage.

aside, let's have a look
at the service. As a master
mechanic of Seabee fame,
Ernie is capable of most
jobs.
He can handle anything
from Mr. Brackeen's old
red tractor to Volkswagons
on through Cadillacs. We
imagine he can handle Rolls
Royces, too, but suggest
owners of this car check
before driving in.
FLASH: Yes, but Rolls are
accepted by appointment
only.
Other foreign cars are a
snap.
The best thing about Boom-
town Garage is the amount
of ingenious inventions
forthcoming. We are trying
to convince the artist
welder to begin sculpture
of junk metal.
He however, perfers to
give customers good service
at low overhead prices.
Anyway, it would never
work as an art studio, be-
cause, as I have already
noted, there are no ash-
trays .
Seriously, folks, he'll
fix what's wrong at a right
price.
He also makes good coffee,
so go by and talk things
over with him.
Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus C.
Holub of Dodson Prairie
announce the approaching
marriage of their daughter
Darlene to Kenney E. Blak-
ney.
Kenney, the son of Bill
Blakney of Odessa and Mrs.
Lucia Gunnels of Freeport,
is now stationed in West
Berlin.
The wedding will be on
May 29, 1970, in St. John's
Catholic Church in Strawn.

Cub Scout
Pack 304 will meet a Lone
Camp community center on
March 28, 1970 at 2:00 p.m.
for kite flying contest.
Awards will be presented.
Refreshments. Public invited.
In the same building with
the Cayce Beauty Salon is
the new Betty's Beachniks.
Run by Betty Scott, it
will carry sportswear.
Tall girls take notice.
Betty is tall, and she is
planning to carry a spec-
ial line of slacks to keep
tall girl ankles from being
mosquito bitten.
She plans to carry missus
sizes for us squatty bodies
so there will be hope for
all the "beachniks" this
spring.
