Upper-right corner: "Terrain comprised in the zone of fire of the Mexican batteries toward the fortress of the Alamo, with their locations, and the radius of fire of the batteries within assault, March 6, 1836."

Upper-right corner: "Full lines, original streets and buildings. Dotted lines, later streets and buildings. A Alamo, B Court House, C City Hall, D San Fernando Catholic Cathedral."

On verso: "Land of Britain. (1) The South Country. The North Downs run westward from Kent into Surrey, where rolling farmland such as this, [...] hills, downs and gorse-covered commons gradually merge into southern outskirts of the great city [...]."
