"Control by USGS and USC&GS. Culture and drainage in part compiled form aerial photographs taken 1946-1947. Topography by plane-table surveys 1952. Hydrography from USCandGS Chart 1284 and 1285 (1:80,000). Polyconic projection. 1927 North American datum 10,000-foot grid based on Texas coordinate system, south central zone. Broken light-blue lines indicate areas subject to occasional inundation."

"Contour interval 5 feet. Datum is mean sea level. Depth curves and soundings in feet - Datum is mean low water. Shoreline shown represents the approximate line of mean high water, the average range of tide is approximately 1 foot in Gulf of Mexico and less than 1/4 foot elsewhere."
