The Harkey Stallion owned by
T. J. Irvin died last Monday,
cause of death unknown. He
was a valuable animal and his
death quite a loss to the owner.
Each of the three National
banks of Taylor was represented
at Barilett Monday by officers
and directors, who attonded the
funeral of the lamented Capt.
Jno. T. Bartlett, who was an
honored member of the Wil-
liamson County Bankers' asso-
ciation. At this time of the year, when
all nature is smiling, when the
birds are singing their sweetest
songs to their mates, when the
little babbling brooks bab, when
the honey bee's drowsy hum
among tne myriads of flowers
gives tokens of coming sweets,
when thb meek-eyed cow is ca-
ressing in maternal fondness her
latest born, it it tfion it is nov
that wo want to metamorphose,
rebel against nature's laws and
become a barefoot boy, a full-
stomached tramp, or a candidate
for office, and we don't care a
continental whioh, so we can es-
cape from the humdrum of the
workshop for a day or two.

The Tribune is now domiciled
in its splendid and substantial
new brick jiome, built especially
for it by its warm friend and con-
stant patron, Mr. H. Hempel.
The contractor, Mr. A. B. Welch,
did his part of the work in his
usual tasty manner with the clos-
est attention to detail, and when
it is stated that the Messrs. Sum-
erill (jf Holland did the brick
work, that fact is a guarantee of
the structure's substantial char-
acter. Since moving in we have
had callR from three of the oldest
"peregrinating printsmiths" now
on the road, and each pronounced
Ht the best lighted, best ventilated
and most conveniently arranged
country printing they had seen
in many moohs.
Friday and Saturday, Miy 6
and 7, will be the last examina-
tions of the year for teachers in
the public schools of Williamson
county. Under ths law that is
now in force, examinations are
conducted in September, Decem-
ber and May only, and County
Superintendent D. L. Hamilton
calls attention to the fact that
teaohers must have a certificate
before they can make contracts
for the next year, so that those
who have not already obtained
them should take advantage of
this chance, as the regular ex-
amination comes no more till
next September.
A disordered stomach may
cause no end of trouble. When
the stomach fails to perform its
functions the bowels become de-
ranged the liver and kidneys con-
gested causing numerous dis-
eases the most fatal of which are
painless and therefore the more to
be dreaded. The important thing
is to restore the stomach and liv-
er to a healthy condition, and for
this purpose no better preparation
can be used than Chamberlain's
Stomach and, LiverTablets. For
