evening following a brutal beat-
ing administered to her Sunday

Mrs Wilson has been under
an oxygen tent since her admit-
tance to the hospital at 515 Sun-
day evening She is suffering
contusions of the chest bruises
and cuts about the body and
fractured ribs
Mrs Wilson was removed
from the oxygen tent this Fri-
day probabl y temporarily
She still remains In a very
critical condition however

day before Harold Reed In Justice

preliminary hearing Bond was

Dr Snyder went to the Stlckley
funeral home at once and the

the Wilson home Tom Hill driv
ing in the absence of Vance
Stlckley
Mrs Wilson was conscious
when found but was was only
able to Indicate that she was
in pain The bedroom of the home
showed the signs of a struggle
At the hospital the case was
turned over to Dr Rush who
notified the sheriff at 545 The
sheriff In turn picked up Wilson
In Pampa at 930 that night He
was found at the home of his
parents Mr and Mrs Grover
Wilson
Wilsons bond on an unrelated
previous charge of threatening
to kill B F Conyers in an argu
ment over a money matter and
on a charge of selling Intoxicat
ing liquor was revoked this week
by Pampa Attorney John Studer

who passed away In the hospital
there at 1245 Saturday afternoon

Bird was bom In Kentucky on
April 10 1880 She came to Cana-
dian from BartlesvUIe OUa at
the lime of her marriage to

She was a devoted member of
the Presbyterian church and a past
member of the W 0 T U and
the Friendly Needle club but gave
ip outside Interests more than
even years ago to devote all her
time In caring for her husband
when he became an invalid Mr
Ramp has been bedfast for five
years now She loved to do
embroidery and crochet work und
Ispent many happy hours in this
manner

husband one son by a previous

Jim Prater Dies
In Fort Worth
Jim Prater 60yearold son of
Mrs Rhoda Prater and brother of
Mrs John McClure passed away
suddenly at 330 p m last Thurs-
day In a Port Worth hospital
He had recently underwent sur
gery and seemed to be getting
along nicely when he became
critically ill with a lung condition
which he did not know he had
Doctors later decided lt was caused
by being gassed in World War I
Mr Prater made his home here
many years ago
Funeral services were held at
Fort Worth Saturday Attending
besides Mrs Prater i and Mrs
McClure were Mr and Mrs Hor-
ton Prater Mrs W I Scott and
Mrs Leroy tMcQarrough all of
Perryton Mr and Mrs Ray Prater

following a light stroke suffered

Mr Reed affectionately known

years old He was active until
the end He had been downtown
two or three times this week

was born at Knoxvllle Iowa In
1807 He was united In marriage
with Miss Nancy Jane Reynolds
In Iowa on August 131893 They
moved to Kingfisher Oklahoma
In 1906 and made their home
there for about a year
In 1910 they moved to Gem
where they resided until moving
to Canadian in 1936
Mr Reed was a member of the
Baptist church at Com He was
preceded In death by one daugh
ter Mrs Mary Smith on Decern
bcr 14 1935 and by his beloved
wife on November 9 1951
Survivors Include one daugh
ter Mrs C E Mae Buckncr of
Waynoka and two sons Ben
Reed of Canadian and Ed Reed
of Iowa Park Texas
Others left to mourn his death
are two sisters and two brothers
