DIES AT HOME
HERE SUNDAY
George E Bailey a resident of
Canladlan for the past thirty
six years passed away at his
home here Sunday afternoon at
220 oclock after an Illness of
several months He was eighty
years of age
George Edward Bailey was
born In Highland county neat
Cincinnati Ohio on the 22nd
day of February In the year
1871 I-
On the ICth day of May iri
the year 1891 he was united In
marriage to Rhoda Lewis Next
week wounld have rounded out
sixty years of this hjippy union
They were the proud parents
of four daughters all born in
Ohio Mrs II R Wlllmoth of
Gem City Mrs Leland Shomber
of Eldorado Kans Mrs Frank
Hutton of Canadian and Mrs
D D Roberts of Enid Okla
In the year 1901 the family
m6ved to Gary Okla A few
months later they homestcaded
In western Oklahoma about a
mile from the Texas line
Mr Bailey had been a resi-
dent of Canadian since 1915
During his active days In this
community he was associated
with the Canadian Hardware
Furniture company He was
member of the Christian church
from early manhood and
teacher In the Sunday school
at times
Left to mourn his death are
his wife and children one sis-
ter Mrs Ida McMullen of Cln
cinnatl seven grandchildren
two great grandchildren and
many neighbors and friends
Funeral services were held at
the First Christian church hue
Tuesday afternoon at three
oclock Songs used during the
services were Where Well

The Canadian hospital staff
entertained Thursday evening In
honor of Mr and Mrs Harry
Bolender who will leave the 15th

both been employed at the hospi-
tal Mrs Bolender las cook and
Mr Bolender as custodian
From here they plan to go to
Colorado
They were presented with a
parting gift a lovely white all
wool blanket At the same time
they gave Miss Anna Taylor a
nice piece of luggage for a
graduation gift
