Nazarenes To Build
New Church Here

of the Nazarene have started a
building fund to finance the
construction of a new church
the
building according pas-
tor the Rev1 H C Aten
Construction Is expected to
start about the middle of the
summer The present building
will be torn down and the new
chiirch erected jon the same lo-
cation at Fourth and Purcell
Plans are for a 35x60foot
frame structure stuccoed and
Uashedon the outside and plast-
ered on the Inside Seating capa
city will be approximately two
hundred and there will be a
study and class rooms for the
various age groups
A basement will be added

Mathis Dies Tuesday
William Bill Mathis 47 a
brother of Henry Mathis of Ca-
nadian passed away at his home
in Mlnot N D Tuesday morn-
ing about nine oclock
Bill and his wife had visited
here during the latter part of
January They had no children
Henry was called to his broth-
ers bedside a few weeks ago
but returned home when Bills
condition seemed to improve

Here Thurs Night
A lot of fun for young and
old Is promised for this coming
Thursday night when the local
Explorer Post No 71 will sponsor
a box supper land raffle drawing

The event will take place at
the American Legion hall and
will start promptly at eight
oclock according to the boys
Boxes brought by the girls and
ladies will be auctioned off to
the highest bidders The success-
ful bidders will then eat supper
with the girl or lady bringing
the box
An electric toaster will be
raffled off after supper and the
boys are busy selling tickets for
this drawing now
Tickets may be secured from
any Explorer and everybody Is
urged to attend have a lot of
fun and also raise some money
for this worthy youth organi-
zation

mencement week exercises have

both the elementary school
promotion program and the
senior commencement exercises
will be unique this year in that
the students will furnish their
own talent for the occasions
While the eighth grade Qupils
are planning on a speaker there
will be no special speaker for
the senior commencement It Is
planned to have speeches by
several seniors and all others
appearing on the programs will
be members of the graduating
