Mrs Sam Waters
Condition Critical
Mrs Sam Waters was critically
Injured Tuesday afternoon In an
auto accident at Amarlllo and as
we go to press her condition ac-
cording to relatives remains un
unchanged
Mrs Waters and fiveyearold
daughter Eaelene accompanied
by Mrs Charlie Bobbins and her
sixyearold daughter were in
Amarillo doing pome Christmas
shopping when the accident oc-
curred The Waters car collided
with a highway patrol car and
Mrs Waters and both children
were thrown out of the car on the
Bide opposite the drivers seat
Mrs Waters was the only
person seriously hurt The extent
of her Injuries have not been
determined as It has been im-
possible to rov her H the Xrav

Dies in Amarillo
Harvey P Black who moved to
Canadian with his family during
the first week of August passed
Away at the Veterans hospital In
Amarillo on Thursday night of
last week
Until h became 111 Mr Black
was an employee of the Cook
Electric He lived with his wife
and baby daughter In the Bill
Shaw house at 4th Elsie
Mr Black was born in Perryton
on Feb 16 1022 He was a grad-
uate of the Perryton high school
a World War II veteran and a
member of the VFW
Funeral services were held at
the First Baptist church In Perry
ton Saturday afternoon with
burial In the Ochiltree cemetery
Left to mourn his death are
his wife Mrs Blllle Black a son
Walter Morgan Black six years
old a daughter Jo Anna Black
tight months old his parents Mr
and Mrs Harvev Black and a
sister Mrs N E Follis all of
Perryton another sister Mrs

a host of friends In both Canadian
and Perryton

Assembly of God
Revival services are in progress
at the Assembly of God church

Dad Spradling Dies

father of Mrs Roy Sheets passed
away November 30 at the home
of his son Sam atTexhomai
Mr Spraddling who made his
home here with Mr and Mrs
Sheets for the past sixteen years
had been In 111 health for many
years He suffered with heart
trouble i
He was born May 13 1808 at
Berrv Station Harrison County
Ky He was married to Miss Mary
Katherine Phipps on June 22
1889 at Lexington Ky Their
children were all born In Ken-
tucky but were reared at Tex
homa where they moved In 1900
Mrs Spradling passed away there-
in 1034
Mr Spradling freighted lor
several years from Texhoma to
Old Hansford He worked on tho
ThompsonGoff ranch south jof
Texhoma for twenty years and at-
one time Vas brand Inspecto at
the St Louis stockyards HS vjas
a member of the Methodist
church Mr SpradJIng was an
avid baseball and race horse fan
and greatly enjoyed listening to
the world series this past sea

Surviving relatives include
three sons and two daughters
twelve grandchildren fourteen
greatgrandchildren and Feveral
nieces and nephews who live In
Kentucky The children are

day evening at the Canadian
hospital where he had been a
patient since November 29 lie
