There will be a big bond rally and
dance in Canadian February 5th to
push the sale of bonds for the 4th
war loan
Special entertainment will be given
Saturday evening in the high school
auditorium Col E A Simpson of
Amarillo will be the main speaker
and there will be special numbers by
the Parapa Air Base orchestra
Right after the rally a big dance
will be held at the city hall with the
music being furnished by the air-
base musicians
Everybody is urged to attend and
a most interesting program is being
prepared

Canadian is awaiting classification
as pilot bombardier or navigator at

college and Amarillo junior college
He was Bent to Santa Ana from
Lubbock where he was a member
of the AAP college training detach-
ment at Texas tchnological college

County Judge
H M Hez Wood a resident of
Hemphill county for more than fifty
years and for the past five years
deputy sheriff tax assessor and
collector is announcing his candi-
dacy for the office of county judge
subject to the Democratic primary
in July
Mr Wood is thoroughly familiar
with the duties of office and served
as one of the early day tax assessors
He feels that he is well qualified to
to fulinil the duties of the office he
seeks and will appreciate the support
and influence of the voters of
