THE WHEEL learns that Mrs.
Sylvanus McCarson came near
meeting with a serious accident
at hei home south of town Monday.
Her dress caught fire while
she was ironing, and was in a
blaze when discovered, but she
retained her presence of mind
and began trying to smother out
the flames. Her husband, who
was in the yard, heard her and
came to her rescue. Both soon

bride came in with her sister,
Miss Clyde Cole and the groom

Mae Case. Taking their stand
before the after, the officiating
minister, Mr.. McCombs,advanced
and eloquently pronounced the
ceremony that made Prof. A. C.
Speer and Miss Alma Cole husband

from the church to the depot
where the bride and groom took
the train for New Orleans.
