Word comes from the Alamo
City that the management of the
San Antonio International Fair
Association is active in its efforts
to make the big Fair and Exposition
to be held in San Antonio,
October 28th to November 8th,
inclusive, the most attractive and
instructive of any Fair or Exposition
ever held in Texas or the
South. The live stock and agricultural
features of the Fair are
being kept in the foreground, and
it is now certain that more cattle,
horses, hogs, sheep and goats will
be on exhibition at San Antonio
than was ever shown at any Fair
held in the State. Products from
the farms, orchards and gardens
will be on exhibition from almost
every county in Texas, and the
agricultural department will be
reinforced with a large exhibit in
this line from the irrigated farms
of Mexico. The enterprising citizen
of San Antonio, aided by
many not living jin'The Alamo
City, are entitled to great credit
in their efforts to re-establish a
great Fair in that City. To improve
something already established
is not a great task, but it
takes push, effort and money to
bring to life again something that
has been dead. The San Antonio
Fair has been put on a permanent
basis and is in able and conservative
hands. Enough money
has been Wibscribed to pay every
premium and open the gates
without the Associotion owing a
single dollar. This Fair will
bring thousands of people to San
Antonio each year who can witness
displays of live stack, speed
and agricultural products unsurpassed
by any Fair ever held in
America. San Antonio is the one
place of all others where a great
Fair should be held every year.
The program appels not only to the
lover of fine stock and agricultural
pursuits and speed contests,
but as well to the seeker of
amusements and diversion. Every
legitimate form of entertainment
available has been secured. Among
the many interesting features
at the Fair will be a Government
Fish Exhibit, which alone
will be worth going many miles
to witness. The features that
will appeal to the pleasure seeker
who is not an agriculturist will
be the many scenes along the
midway. The scenes here will be
pleasing and instructive. The
customs and habits of various
races of men will be worth studying,
both to young and old.
Great as are these and other attractions
there is one that will
appeal to all, and that,.wiJll;be the
music. The best thing about this
Fair will be the decency 'of the
whole entertain met,,, While
freedom will be unrestricted,
here will be no rude sights or
vnlgar scenes allowed on the
grounds.Shoe and Other
