Computer Science CPS 3339. STATISTICS AND PROGRAMMING APPLICATIONS.
Computer components and languages with emphasis on FORTRAN; Heuristic
and algorithmic computing techniques; flowcharting; application of measures of
central tendency, variation, index numbers, curve fitting for time series; impact
of computer systems on decision making.
Prerequisite: CPS 3319 and 15 hrs. of CPS. Three semester hours
CPS 3349. ADVANCED ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE PROGRAMMING.
This course is designed to give the student advanced programming concepts and
computer applications programming in assembly language coding techniques;
macro writing, subroutines, nonsequential access methods and coding optimization
are studied.
Prerequisite: CPS 2349. Three semester hours
CPS 3369. ADVANCED COMPUTER OPERATIONS.
Operation procedures for third generation card, tape, and disk systems; concepts
of operating systems, management, organization, control, and operational procedures
of large scale computer installations.
Prerequisite: CPS 2319 or consent of Instructor. Three semester hours
CPS 4399. SYSTEMS SOFTWARE.
The historical development of conventional software systems such as communication
systems, system service and utility routines, the structure of system
libraries, job control, and systems.
Prerequisite: 24 hours of CPS. Three semester hours
CPS 4319. COMPUTER SYSTEMS PROGRAMMING.
A study of machine and assembler languages and how these are effected by
machine organization.
Prerequisite: 24 hours of CPS. Three semester hours
CPS 4339. LINEAR PROGRAMMING.
This course is designed to give the business administrator computer methods
necessary for the solution of a wide variety of practical applications.
Prerequisite: 24 hours of CPS or consent of Instructor. Three semester hours
CPS 4359. COMPILER THEORY.
A study of the techniques used in writing compilers, assemblers and intercepters.
Prerequisite: Consent of Instructor. Three semester hours
CPS 4379. INFORMATION STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL.
A study of file organizations and search strategy techniques.
Prerequisite: CPS 3349 and consent of Instructor. Three semester hours
