CORRESPONDENCE COURSES
Howard Payne University is approved by the Texas
Education Agency and the Association of Texas
Colleges to offer work by correspondence in a
number of fields.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Entrance requirements and prerequisites are the
same as for residence courses on campus.
* Correspondence work does not satisfy residence
requirements.
* Only 18 semester hours credit may be earned by
Correspondence through Howard Payne University
or from another college or university approved
for Correspondence study.
* Cost of Correspondence courses are the same as
for work taken on campus in residence and must
be paid in full at the time of enrollment.
* Permission to enroll in correspondence work
must be obtained from the Director of Continuing
Education if the student is in residence at Howard
Payne University. This applies even if the course
is taken through another institution.
* Correspondence work counts as part of the course
load for Howard Payne University students, except
for Selective Service regulations.
* Only one correspondence course may be taken at
a time.
* No correspondence course may be completed in
less than 45 days.
* Registration in a correspondence course expires
at the end of twelve months.
* Seniors must complete correspondence work the
semester prior to graduation.
* Correspondence courses from another college
must be verified by a transcript from that institution
before credit is granted and entered on the
student's permanent record.
* A correspondence course must terminate with an
examination taken under the supervision of a college
official, either at Howard Payne University,
or at another institution which is a member of
the Association of Texas Colleges. No fee
is charged for examinations administered by
