32General Education requirements for the AA include the
following courses totaling 41 hours:
1. Bible courses, 8 hrs.: BIBL 104, 105.
2. English courses, 6 hrs.: ENGL 111, 112.
3. Speech course, 3 hrs.: COMS 111 with religious emphasis.4. Science courses, 6 hrs.: three hours in each of two
fields, biology, chemistry, physics.
5. Social and Behavioral Science, 6 hrs.: PSYC 120 and
one of the following: HIST 117, 118, 221, 222, 223,
224.
6. Physical Education courses, 2 hrs.: PE 100, plus one activity
course.
7. Electives, 10 hrs.
Departmental Requirements
Departmental requirements for the AA in Bible are as follows:1. Required Bible courses, 12 hrs.: BIBL 201, 202, 520,
560.
2. Other required courses, 12 hrs.: BIBM 509, 530; BMIS
546 or BIBM 593; BIBD 379 or BIBH 583.
3. Bible elective, 3 hrs.: any advanced textual course.
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
The numbers following course titles indicate (1) hours of
lecture per week, (2) hours of laboratory per week, and
(3) semester credit hours. An asterisk following these

alternative credit and that the figures represent the maximum

Beginner's grammar of the Greek of the New Testament with emphasis
on inflections and vocabulary. Meets daily.

Continuation of BGRK 111. Simple readings in the Greek New Testament.
Meets daily. Prerequisite: BGRK 111.
#BGRK 400 Guided Study (0-0-6)*. Arranged with instructor and
department chairman.
#BGRK 451 Classical Greek Readings (3-0-3), alternate years. Rapid
survey of a Classical Greek grammar, stressing the difference in Classical
and Koine Greek. Readings in Zenophon's Anabasis.
#BGRK 452 Classical Greek Readings (3-0-3), alternate years. Continuation
of BGRK 451. Sample readings in other authors.
#BGRK 521 Elementary Greek Readings (3-0-3), fall, summer. Reading
of Johannine materials. Review of the grammar of the Greek New
Testament with emphasis on syntax.
#BGRK 522 Elementary Greek Readings (3-0-3), spring, summer.
Continuation of BGRK 521. Further reading of Johannine materials.
Brief introduction to the history and use of a critical Greek Testament.
