Bible
1) 6 hrs.: BIBL 101,102 Transfer students must take one-tenth of their hours at ACU, rounded to

Science
1) 6hrs.: Every student must take work in more than one field of science. For BSEd, Item 1 must include BIOL 102 or GEOL 111.
BSHE requires BIOL 102; recommends chemistry for the other course.
2) 6hrs.: additional science courses BSEd, BMEd, BSHE, and BFA students do not have to satisfy Item 2;
neither do students who took at least two units of high school science
chosen from biology, chemistry, and physics.
BSN requires 20hrs.: CHEM 111, 112, 113,114; BIOL 291,292,353.
Social and Behavioral Science
1) 6 hrs.: HIST 117-118 or 221-222, or 223-224 BSEd, BSHE, and BMEd require HIST 221-222 and POLS 226. Certain
2) 3hrs.: Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Political Science, majors within other degrees also specify which courses to take.
Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology BSN requires 18 hrs.: HIST 221-222; PSYC 120 and 232 or EDUC 230 and
556; SOCI 111 or 222.
For Item 2, BA or BS in Bible requires BIBM 509; BBA requires 6hrs. including
POLS 221; Engineering Physics requires Economics.
Speech
3hrs.: COMS 111 BSEd in Elementary Education substitutes COMS 286
Mathematics*
3hrs.: MATH 103 Not required for the BFA degree. Not required of any students who
make at least 22 on the math section of the ACT.
BBA also requires MATH 130 and 131.
BSHE, BSEd, and BMEd require MATH 118 or 121 or above.
BSN also requires MATH 121 for students who score below 24 on the
math section of the ACT.
Fine Arts
3 hrs.: ART 101, MUSM 230, or COMD 250 Required only for BA, BS, BBA, and BSEd.
Physical Education
4 hrs.: PE 100 and three additional activity courses ROTC is not accepted. BMEd requires PE 100 and one additional
course. No more than 4 hours of PE activity count toward graduation.
Other Courses
Ohrs. ormore Some majors require one or two years of a foreign language. BSEd and
BSHE require EDUC 210. BSN requires HEFS 324.*Students who have a composite ACT score of less than 15 should refer to special requirements on page 15 of this catalog. Special requirements for students
