studies. This term of work also supplements similar studies made
in Biblical Doctrine. Three hours a week.
PRACTICAL.
G-This course will be devoted to the study of the New Testament
Church in its constitution and policy. The officers, organization,
membership, work, and discipline of the early churches
will be studied. Qualifications of the several ministers of the
church will be emphasized. First-hand studies will be made in
the Scriptures, and the best writers will be read on these subjects.
Principles or methods will be elicited through the studies. Some
study will be given to the ordinances as they relate to the other
matter studied. Two hours a week.
H.-This course is more particular consideration of the ordinances
of the church. They will be viewed as to their number,
signification, and time and manner of administration. The
qualification of candidates and administrators will be considered.
The kind and the purpose of music in worship is seen. A study of
the relation of the Christian leader or evangelist to the various
phases of church work and to the several problems of personal
work in a community. Family worship and prayer meetings are
studied. The best methods of educating the membership of the
church are considered along with suggestions as to the most efficient
ways of doing the work of the church. Efficiency in moral
force and thoroughly Christian spiritual influence are held up as
the goal. Two hours a week.
I.-In this course the students learn the science and art of
parliamentary order. The business assembly, the debate, and
the public meeting are considered.
Lectures are given in evangelism in connection with a book for
parrallel reading on this subject. How to conduct a revival as to
sermonizing, singing, preaching, getting publicity, doing personal
work, and accomplishing a real and permanent spiritual work is
the foremost consideration. Two hours a week.
COMPARTIVE RELIGION AND MISSIONS.
A.-This course is given to comparative study of the great religions
of the world. Speer's Light of the World will be the basis,
but other readings are required. We seek to get a view of the
field and of the problems. The life and literature are considered
