Foreword
Abilene Christian College is to open her doors for her seventh
summer session on the 9th of June. The summer school was
begun in response to many calls for summer work, and has proved
to be highly successful. This year we are enlarging the possibilities,
strengthening the teaching staff, and extending the course
of study. The closest examination of the grade of the work
given here is invited and welcomed. The regular session now
nearing its close has seen the largest enrollment of any year.
No doubt the continued increase and growth of this institution
is due largely to the quality of work that is given here and
to the spirit in which it is given. The fundamental principle
upon which this work is builded and maintained is that each student
is an individual, that he has a body to develop, a mind to
train, and a soul to save. Because of this recognition, he is not
lost in the mass. Yet no effort is made to solve for the student
those problems which he should solve for himself; nor are the
requirements for each individual made lighter. He is given that
personal attention and assistance which, in the judgment of the
faculty, he needs most, in order to prepare for the greatest
service.
