365.-The English Bible.-This is a continuation of the course
above. Some time will be devoted to the odes, songs, elegies,
monodies, lyrics, epics, etc. Some attention will be given to the use
that the literary men have made of the Bible in the form of quotations.

In each of these last two courses a great deal of parallel reading
will be required. Jane T. Stoddart, The Old Testament in Life and
Literature, The New Testament In Life and Literature, and others.
375.-The Modern Drama. This course is a close study of about
twenty of the best modern dramas of American, English, Irish, French,
German, Norwegian and Russian writers. Dramatic structure is emphasized.
But most stress is placed upon the purpose and tendency
of the modern drama. Parallel reading. Text: Dickinson, Chief Contemporary
Dramatists.
