THE 'REMEMBER THE ALAMO' BELT BUCKLEIssued in a strictly limited edition.
Orders must be postmarked by December 31, 1986.On February 23, 1836, General Antonio Lopez de Santa
Anna led an attack against the handful of soldiers garrisoned
at the Alamo in an attempt to stop the Texas colonists' revolution
against his dictatorship in Mexico. With somber resolve,
Col. William Barret Travis and a force of 183 American heroes
withstood seige by over 4000 Mexican troops for 12 days,
awaiting reinforcements which never arrived. On March 6, the
stronghold finally fell, after every brave man was killed.
"Remember the Alamo" became the battle cry which rallied
the forces needed to win independence for Texas.
Present at the Alamo were some of the most famous
names of America's legends. Jim Bowie, the adventurer and
explorer renowned for the development of the Bowie knife,
held joint command with Col. Travis until overcome by pneumonia.
Fourteen Tenessee volunteers were present with their
Commander, the legendary soldier and explorer Davy
Crockett, who fought and died alongside his men.The Historic American Mint
