FROM THE EDITOR
A ll good things must come to
an end-an adage that is
appropriate for my resignation
as editor of your magazine. My
husband, Glenn Wolfe, and I are
leaving for London, England in a few
days. Glenn, who photographed many
covers for HERITAGE, will be media
director at the American School, and I
will be teaching English and French.
These two years as your editor have
been among the richest and most
rewarding work experiences of my life.
One of my treasured memories leads
me to our cover article-Texas Capitol
Preservation and Extension Project.

Board of Directors enjoyed a reception at the Capitol in the
offices of the lieutenant governor. The reception room was
beautiful, the hors d'ceuvres were delicious-but the best was
yet to come.The Capit0ol Stry

ISBN 0-89015-663-8 ......... $29.95After the reception,
Capitol
Architect Allen
McCree (shown
right) gave a presentation
which
included an early
history of the
Capitol, a review
of the master plan
for restoration of
the Capitol, and an extensive tour of the
building. Allen's great enthusiasm and energy
for the project inspired us all and provided us
with an outstanding cover story.Patricia Haas
