QORSI'OAtNA YOUNG PEOPLE
GUEI3TS OF BAPTISTS 6
The young people from the First
Baptist Church of Corsicana were
the guests of the young people of
the local Baptist Church Friday
night at a party, throughout
which, the "Star' was used as the
theme.
The evening began with each
'person of every constellation se-
curin "dates' for the different
games whioh followed. (Under the
blue lights every boy and girl
seemed to be able to find the oines
that suited them best. And, just
between the two of us, "we' hear
that certain members of the two
'churches plan to continue the
"good neighbor policy.' Cupid for-
got that his day doesen't come
until February.) The game titles
were as follows: Twinkling Stars,
Star Trails, Shooting Stars,
Changeable Stars, Seeing Stars,
and Lost Stars.
One of the highlights of the
evening was a clever stuint, "The
Eclipse', presented by the follow-
ing individuals: Joan Smith—the
earth; Ann Bain—the sum; John
Murphrey—the moon; Winona E-
thridge—the sky; Brownilee Park-
er—the eclipse; Carolyn Price—
period of totality; Leona Paul and
Lamita Dixotn—stars; Jeanette
Coggins, Patricia Newsom and
AJmma Jo Eaton—lengthing shad-
ows; Elmin Howell, Jr., great
fear; Douglas Cunningham and
Dwiain Bruner, gusts of wind; and
Mrs. J. W Ousley, reader.
After the games, the Rev J W
Ousley brought a brief devotion
on 'Following the ISltar in 1945',
using a picture of Christ, mount-
ed on a large silver star, as the
center of worship.
About sixty people were served
'Star Dainties' by Mesdames Rob-
ert Tyus,-R E Ford, Herman Hall
and /Newt Stovall. The WMU gra-
ciously furnished the refresh-
ments for the young, people.
This 'Star Party' was written
and directed by Mrs J W Ousley.
Her assistants in erecuting these
plans were Mrs Roy Cloud and
C L Reed, land they, with the Rev.
Ousley, led one group in a game.
The recreation room was (arrang-
ed and beautifully decorated in
blue, white aind silver by Mrs
Cloud, Mr. Reed, Misses Pat New-
som and Jean Se&le, and Archie
B. Massey. Appropriate music
was furnished at intervals by Mrs
Elmin Howell and Beverly Hen-
son. The properties committee in-
cluded: Misses Imogene Massey,

KITTY HAWK
Distance was annihilated, war rev-
olutionized by three years of glider
flights and a 59-second motorized
aeroplane test by the Wright broth-
ers at Kitty Hawk, N. C. In 1928
residents of Kitty Hawk erected a
monument to those historic tests:
later the Federal Government dedi-
cated the Wright Memorial Monu-
ment and a 350-acre park on Kill
Devil Hill "in commemoration of
tfie conquest of air by the brother®
Wilbur and Orville Wright." Flights
today of B-29's, fighter planes,
scouts and transports prove how
vital were those tests and inspire1
Americans to buy War Bonds for
expansion of aviation to win com-
plete Victory. 0?S.Jrt<pur* D«ptrtw*nt
