WTC Lists Traffic Policies
The following policies on traffic and parking were
adopted by the WTC Board of Trustees at its monthly
meeting on February 12th. Adoption was made subject
to approval of the WTC Student Senate. At its regular
meeting on Tuesday, February 13th, the Student Senate
approved the policy statement below.
Western Texas College offers parking space to its
students, faculty, and visitors. Special areas are desig-
nated for parking for dormitory residents, faculty and
staff, and visitors. Dormitory residents and only dormi-
tory residents are to park in the dormitory parking lot.
Faculty and only faculty may park in areas designated
by green curbs or green lines. Visitors are asked to park
in areas marked by white curbs and lines.
Violations Listed
Parking is a privilege granted to the: college com-
munity. Violations may result in loss of parking privi-
leges.
The following violations may be cited by college
officials or their representatives:
a. Parking in faculty zone without green parking
permit.
b. Parking in dormitory zone without blue park-
ing permit.
c. Parking incorrectly '(backing into space, park-
ed in loading zone or unauthorized parking
space, etc.)
d. Any violation of normal traffic laws.
Violations Recorded
Records of violations may be recorded as warnings,
first offense, second offense, or third offense, as appro-
priate. Parking privileges may be reinstated after pay-
ment of reinstatement fees according to the following
schedule:
a. First Offense $1.00
b. Second Offense $2.00
c. Third Offense $3.00
Subsequent offenses or failure to pay fees may result
in permanent loss of parking privileges or disciplinary
action.
Student May Appeal
Appeals on parking or traffic offenses may be made
to the Traffic Appeals Board, a subcommittee of the
Student Senate of Western Texas College. A student wish-
ing to appeal must submit a notice of appeal to the Office
of Student Activities within three days of the offense.
Payment of reinstatement fees are to be made to the
business office at Western Texas College within one week
of the date of the ticket. Visitors shall have their fee
waived by submitting the signed ticket to the business
office in person or by mail.
WJCAC Lists Conference Standings
WTC bounded from fifth to third place in the Western
Junior College Athletic Conference basketball standings last
week. New Mexico Jr. College is also in third place with a
7-5 conference record.
South Plains leads the conference with a 12-0 record
and Howard County is second with a 9-2 record.

Texas Student Education
Association members will be
going to Houston for a state
convention on March 1, 2, and
3 according to Mary Hood,
TSEA sponsor.
During their stay in Houston,
there will be special interest
sessions, panel discussions, and
a Human Relations Seminar.
There will also be a banquet
on Saturday at noon. State
officers will be elected and
announced. Mrs. Patsy Duncan,
Texas State Teacher's Associa-
tion state president, will be
the speaker for the event.
The members will also see the
film, FUTURE SHOCK.

The Kappa Chi Club elected
officers for the school year of
72-73 last semester, according
to Dean Morgan, club sponsor,

The Kappa Chi Club is
sponsoring a chess and ping-
pong tournament during the
month of February at the
Christian Student Center, ac-
cording to Greg Freeman,
president. The entry fee is 25
cents. This fee will help buy
a trophy that will be presented
to the winners in both tour-
naments. All WTC students are
encouraged to participate in
these events.
Devotionals are still being
held on Sunday nights, ac-
cording to Dean Morgan,
director of Christian Student
Center. All WTC students are
invited and encouraged to come
for a free meal before the
devotional. There will be
fellowship afterward. Any
student or students who plan
to attend on a given Sunday
night should come by during the
week and sign a list so they
will know how much food to
prepare.
Golf Schedule Announced
The first spring non-conference golf tournament for
WTC will be held on March 1, 2, and 3, according to Bob
O'Day, WTC golf coach. The WTC team will participate in
the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas. This will be a 72
hole tournament. O'Day says, "this will be one of the major
tournaments" in the spring semester. Most of the large
junior and senior colleges will be there.
Tenorio Is Captain
Members of the WTC golf team in this tournament will
be Max Tenorio from Amarillo Caprock (team captain),
Tim Stuerzenberger from Abilene Cooper, Barry Hays from
Borger, Mark McCraney from Big Spring, Ricky Hopper
from Sweetwater, Mark Peters from Big Spring, Larry Hall
from Iraan, and Matt McGee from Abilene Cooper.
WTC Second
The WTC team was in second place last fall in confer-
ence standings after 5 tournaments with 41 points. Odessa
College was in first place with 43 points.

The WTC Westerners hosted the South Plains* College Texans in the
Scurry County Coliseum on Mon., January 15. The Westerners
were defeated by the score of 96 to 89. Above, Eric Grant goes
up to put two more points on the scoreboard for WTC.
