THIS IS written it seems
AS
that Ralph Yarborough has
lost his race for governor by the
smallest margin in Texas history
With nearly 1400000 votes cast
Yarborough apparently trailed by
about 3000 votes At one time Sunday
he was only 700 votes behind
according to one tabulation
Certainly it is a hollow victory
for Price Daniel who will go into
office with half the people opposed
lo him The victory is even more
hollow when one considers the fact
that the voters werent voting for
personality geographical location or
other factors which are soon forgotten
after the election
The outcome is an ignominious defeat
for those pipsqueaks who discounted
Yarboroughs chances in the
runoff who even had the gall to
suggest that he withdraw from the
race after the first primary for
those who lied about Yarboroughs
connection with outofstate radicalsOne pipsqueak not far from here

From their voting record Saturday
apparently a majority of our

We are carefully documenting
these charges we are going to spend
some time in digging out the proof
and the first time Governor Daniel

The estimates are mostly in round
numbers indicating inaccuracy but
they were compiled from figures
provided by county agents
Hale and Lubbock counties are estimated
to have the same number of

outpaced only by Hockley county
with an estimated 4000 wells
Lamb stands fourth with 3200
