Creek Ranch located 15 miles
North of Albany on the site of
Fort Griffin. Collins Creek con-
sists of5000 acres of prime wild-
life habitat. The combination
of rolling hills and thick mesquite and the fact that the Clear Fork of

Welcome...
Welcome to Albany and Shackelford
County!
You hold in your hands the Albany
Guide published by the Albany News
staff. We hope that it will provide the
information you're looking for about
our town and prove to be an invaluable
resource.
Albany is a community rich in history
and character, which is something we
strive to perpetuate and nurture. We are
proud of our past, but we have our eyes
firmly focused on the future.
We feel that Albany has a lot to offer
and hope that you will use this guide to
acquaint yourself with our town. The
pages of this guide are filled with stories
and pictures of just a few of the many
attractions we offer.
This guide is also filled with adver-
tisements so that you camtind the ser-
vices or facilities you need during your
visit. Without the support of our adver-
Contents...
tisers this guide would not be possible.
This publication is meant to serve
both the visitor andthe newcomer to our
town, to make them more familiar with
what we have to offer. It can also serve
as a reminder to our local residents of
just what a special place Albany really
is.
The Albany Guide is published twice
a year - in the spring prior to the Fort
Griffin Fandangle and in the fall before
hunting season.
You can help us make this endeavor
even more complete by telling us if we
have left out information important to
you and by offering suggestions. It is our
desire to provide the best guide any-
where and with your help, we can do it.
Thanks for your support and enjoy
your stay - whether it be for a day or a
lifetime.
