ctober 7 was HPU's first S.W.A.R.M. Day
servingg With A Right Motive), an afternoon of
opportunity for HPU students.
Students volunteered three hours of a "free" day to
help people and businesses in the community. There
were over 200 student volunteers to fill positions at
Latch Key, City of Brownwood, Brownwood Regional
Medical Center, Belle Plain Baptist Church, Good
Samaritan, Catch 22, Habitat for Humanity,
Brownwood Beautification and Nueva Vida BautistaMission. These students did everything, from painting
a church to reading to children in the hospital. These
hours of service gave students a greater sense of pride
for themselves and HPU.
"We wanted to show students ways they can
become involved in the community," said Kristi
Simpson, coordinator of student activities.IS IT MOVING?
