Published minutes of the Gener-
al Membership Meeting on July 9,
1983 (third column of pg. 17 of
Sept. HCN) showed a cash bal-
ance of $6,234 under "Treasurer's
Report". This was in error. The
amount should have been $67,234.

The Portion entitled "Recogni-
tion" in the third column of pg. 17,
Sept. HCN, under meeting min-
utes for the General Membership
Meeting, Saturday, July 9, 1983
read "Four members of the ASTP"
. . . This should have read "For-
mer members of the ASTP" . . .
CORRECTION
The name of John Fidorek
(D/714) was overlooked in the
September HCN listing of those
attending the Nashville Reunion.
He did attend and participate. We
regret this oversight (Editor).

BOOSTERS
Harry W. Deck - Div. Arty.
Frank S. Dinoto, Sr. - CCA
C. G. Thurman - Hq/CCA
Sam Ingallinese - CCB
Col. Charles Gildart [Ret.] - Arty.
Cecil E. Pearson, Sr. - Hq.

The postman rang more than
twice this month and brought
letters and notes that make an
interesting column.
With his dues and booster from
San Diego, California comes a
short note from Col. Charles Gil-
dart (Ret). The Colonel who was
with Divarty informs us that he
will reach the ripe young age of 89
this year. He further adds that
the account of the reunion shows
that it was a very successful one,
in spite of the elapsed years. He
has been told that our association
is a much more active organiza-
tion than that of the 10th A.D.
and conveys congratulations to all
with management responsibilities.
He was sorry that he did not
attend the Nashville reunion as he
can no longer travel unless accom-
panies by a member of the family.
We bless and salute you Colonel.
We feel that you are probably one
of the, if not the oldest member of
our association.
From his retired home where
he is taking life easy these days,
comes, dues, booster, and a letter
from one of my old QM Section
officers. He was then Captain Bud
Choyke who was the division fuel
and lube officer whose job it was
to see that the division had plenti-
ful supplies so as not to be stalled
for lack of gas. If I can remember
correctly, Bud was a great con-
artist going to different area gaso-
line dumps and conning them out
of gas when our source of supply
was temporarily out. Bud apolo-
gizes for not making the reunions
due to having retired to Florida
and when he and wife Bea make
trips, it's to visit their sons in
Washington, D.C. and Wisconsin.
Recently they visited and stayed
for awhile with son Bill in Wash-
ington. While there he called Con-
nie Gardner. Connie is the wife of
the then Captain Steve Gardner
(deceased) who was Bud's fellow
officer and sidekick along with
another present member and
another officer in the QM Section,
the then Major Hugh Black. Bud
made contact with Connie on the
last day of their visit so conse-
quently did not get to see her.
Connie was most happy to hear
from them and they talked for 45
minutes. Bud further writes . . .
Steve was quite a guy. He was
Vice Chairman of the Federal
Reserve and lived at Watergate.
Steve and Connie had five chil-
dren. Bud promises that next time
they go to Washington to visit
their son, they will be sure to get
together with her this time. Bud
closes . . . well old friend 'til next
time and if the old body holds
together, will sure make Orlando
in '85 as it's only 70 miles from us.
