PRESIDENTS
MESS A GE
We have been saddened by the
many deaths and illnesses re-
ported in the unit columns in the
past months. We trust that those
who are sick and those in be-
reavement may be comforted by
the thoughts and prayers of their
comrades.
Many letters have been re-
ceived from members in reference
to a variety of issues. Some have
been referred to the Executive
Council members for consider-
ation, others have been answered,
hopefully to the writers' satis-
faction. We urge you to continue
to write to the Council members
and your Unit Rep with your
concerns. Be proud that this is
YOUR organization and YOU are
an important Hellcat. We hope to
hear from you. There is a need for
more members to become active
in Association Affairs.
Kenneth A. Warnes Sr., 714th
Tank Battalion, has been appoint-
ed secretary of the 12th Armored
Division Association. He will re-
place George G. Moss whose
resignation has been accepted.
Ken Warnes, known as "the hat",
(another story) has spent many
years in dedicated service to the
Association. He came to the res-
cue upon Harold Hendricks death
- years ago, serving as Executive
Secretary until his move from
Illinois to Washington. He has
served as his unit's rep and has
been active on various committees
with important responsibilities.
The proposed splitting the of-
fice of Executive Secretary was
abandoned due to difficulty of
communication, expected con-
fusion and distances.
We are indeed fortunate to
have one with such loyalty in your
organization to undertake the
complete task. We are grateful to
Ken's wife, Inez, who has pledged
to work by his side to accomplish
this huge task. The transition is to
be effective, Dec. 1, 1981. All
communications including the ma-
terial for the January 1982 Hellcat
News, are to be mailed to Ken
Warnes beginning Dec. 1.
I wish to urge all officers
including unit reps, plus regional
reunion chairmen, to read the
12th ADA Constitution and By-
Laws and be cognizant of the
contents. They were written to
guide and conduct this organi-
zation properly and especially to
protect each and every Hellcat in
his association business. For ex-
ample, the Executive Secretary
must be notified promptly of
chapter activities to avoid conflict
with other chapters or functions
of the Association.
The By-Laws need upgrading
occasionally for which we have a
review committee. It consists of
Norbert Bruemmer, Chairman,
Leonard Dooley, and Jack Miller.
Concerned Hellcats are requested
to send their constructive sug-
gestions to one of the committee
members for consideration.
It is high time to be saving up
for the "big one", the 36th Annual
Reunion in St. Louis, July 8-11,
1982. Reunion Chairman, John
Critzas and committee, are pro-
gressing rapidly in their plans to
make this another outstanding
one. Write your unit rep of your
intention to be there and make
those reservations early. Looking
forward to St. Loo, the River
City.
Plans for regional meetings,
picnics, other gatherings are in
the makings. Check out the entire
Hellcat News for meetings in your
area. If you live in an isolated spot
of our great country, how about
contacting a Hellcat in your vi-
cinity and "shoot the breeze"
about old times. Believe me, the
comaraderie is tremendous.
Doing the Honors for the Hellcats of the 12th was: Left
to right President Ken Bradstreet, 2nd Vice-Pres. Bob
Head, 1st V-P Clint Seitz and Dir-at-Large Gil Heine.

A Special Word Of Thanks
From Our Reassigned Chaplin
THANKSGIVING
"And it came to pass, as he
went to Jerusalem, that he passed
through the midst of Sameria and
Galilee. And as he entered into a
certain village there met him ten
men that were lepers, which stood
afar off: And they lifted up their
voices, and said, Master, have
mercy on us. And when he saw
them, he said unto them, Go show
yourselves unto the priests. And
it came to pass, that as they went,
they were cleansed. And one of
them, when he saw that he was
healed, turned back, and with as
loud voice glorified God, and fell
down on his face at his feet,
giving Him thanks: and he was a
Samaritan. And Jesus answering
said, were there not ten cleansed?
but where are the nine? There
are not found that returned to
give glory to God, save this
stranger. And he said unto him,
Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath
George Moss and the printer
have done an outstanding chore
on your newspaper as you know.
You will continue to receive it
providing your dues are paid.
Don't become a delinquent sta-
tistic. For those able to boost a
buddy, we need you now more
than ever before. Remember, bo-
oster contributions are tax de-
ductible. The rate at which Geo-
rge Moss has been receiving
dues from members - to date, has
been gratifying. We acknowledge
your effort and hope that all of
you will continue in the fold.
Write your unit rep. You will
not see your name in print unless
you give him something about
which to write. A successful
future depends on you and your
involvement. Please send your
change of address, if there is one,
to the Executive Secretary pro-
mptly.
This is the season in which to
count our blessings and express
our Thanksgiving for them.
Blessing, yes, we have so many
We could never name then all.
Let's lift our hearts in glad
Thanksgiving
For all blessings great and
small.
It's Great To Be A Hellcat!
Clint Seitz
