trains looking after the Annex girls and those who have been
placed in private homes. He has been well assisted in this work
by the Committee of the Y. W. C. A.
Tuesday morning at nine o'clock quite a number gathered in
the Chapel for services before beginning the work of the day,
after which service Dr. Hyer, in a few words, extended a hearty
greeting to the old students and a warm, hearty welcome to the
new ones. Immediately, after Chapel the young ladies repaired
in a body to the registration room so that they might, fitst, be-
gin the work of matriculation while the bovs waited patiently
in the adjoining hall. After the rush, for the first few hours,
the work settled down to a steady pace and has been going on
for two days with the result that many have not yet been able
to be accomodated by the registration committee.
Much interest is being taken in athletics as is evidenced by
the large number of men who turn out for foot-ball practice
every evening and also by the number who gather in the shade
of the "Old Live Oak" to watch Coach Arbuckle and Prof. Mc-
Ginnis turn raw material into the necessary recruits for the
Varsity team that is to lead S. U. to victory on the gridiron.
From present indications there will be more college spirit than
ever before. This is as it should be. The days of a greater
Southwestern are fast being realized.

You're not quite ready to start,
you say;
The time to be starting is now
—today,
Don't dally; begin!
No man has ever been ready as
yet,
Ncr ever will be;
You may fall ere you reach
where your hopes are set,
But try it and see.
