Judson A. Suber of Ore
City, who everyone at
Lone Star knows as "Jud",
has his name in the news
because of his unusual
knowledge of soldiering
and frogs.
In civilian life, Suber is
a practice assistant in
Lone Star's masonry de-
partment. He is a native
of Colorado City. Texas,

rank of staff sergeant.
Three years later, he was

When the 49th Armor-

A past Worshipful Mas-
ter of the Ore City Mason-
ic lodge, Suber also is a
JUDSON A. SUBER
Shriner. But he is also
known in the area as an
expert frog hunter. A few
of his friends swear that
Suber knows the home ad-
dress of every frog in the
Cypress bottoms.
During his year at Fort
Polk, he proved he knew
the address of a few trav-
eling frogs. Returning to
the camp from leave, he
picked up nine frogs along
the road between Ore City
and Fort Polk.
"The frog legs added a
little variety to the army
menu that night," he re-
ported.
