- Display Note: "Original church building was octagonal, frame with four entrances; cost $559.52; funded with all kinds of donations of cash and kind, suppers, bake sales, and such. Frank Weedon, pastor of Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville, was first pastor. Church was a mission of Central Baptist Church. Church has 39 charter members joining at first service. Church was dedicated Nov. 13, 1932. Plans for starting church began in a meeting in J. J. Chastain's store nearby on Sept. 15, 1932. Groundbreaking for present church building was held April 4, 1984, when Elder Paul Knous turned first dirt for the new building."
