BIG PAINT-IN. In 1 day, 55 boys and fathers from
Scout Troop 503, St. Mark's Church, in Orchard
Park, N.Y., painted the town's historic 150-year-
old Quaker Meeting House, including a fence around
the place. Afterwards, Campfire Girls served
punch and doughnuts to the tired crew.
MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Troop 790, First United Methodist
Church, Barboursville, W. Va. , built an outdoor
chapel at Camp Arrowhead of the Tri-State Area
Council, Huntington, W. Va., in memory of Rodney
Ransom, a friend and Eagle Scout who was killed
in Vietnam. The project took 5 months to complete.

LITTER MONSTER. Troop 46, Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, Lynchburg, Va., won first prize ($500 in
Scouting equipment) in the Owens-Illinois, Inc.,
nationwide anti-litter drive. The "monster" is
15 feet high, 36 feet long and loaded with 5 tons
of trash to remind motorists not to litter.
TWO FOR FUN. Mrs. Dale Kretzer, Den Leader, and
Mrs. Rex Defenbaugh, assistant, got both exercise!
and attention in this Scout Fun Fair parade inl
Lodi, Calif. Both "recyclists" spark the program|
with Pack 297, George Washington School PTA.
