CIRCUS SKITS. THE LION TAMER.
(Adapted from Milwaukee County
Council 1980 Pow Wow Book.)
You need a Ringmaster, Lion Tamer,
and three Lions. Props are a hula hoop
with crepe paper flames, whip, cap
pistol, water pistol, applause signs,
stools for Lions.
Ringmaster introduces the Great
Cubbini, a Lion Tamer, and his Lions.
FOOT-HOLE
CLOWN'S SHOES. Cut from old inner-
tube. Make them about three inches
longer than the clown's real shoes,
which must be put on after he's
donned these.
Ringmaster holds up the applause sign.
Lion Tamer cracks his whip and fires
his cap pistol to make Lions sit on
stools, form a pyramid, and jump
through the "flaming hoop." After each
feat, he bows and a Lion nips him on the
seat of his pants. For the finale, the Lion
Tamer puts his hand into a lion's"
mouth. When he withdraws it, he hides
hand in sleeve and shouts, "Look, no
hand!" The Lions pace and roar and will
not be subdued by the cracking of the
whip.
The Lign Tamer takes out his water
pistol and shoots at Lions, then calls,
"Oops, wrong gun!" He then turns to. the
audience and sprays them. The Lions
chase him out of the ring.
THE SHRINKING MACHINE. (Adapt-
ed from 1980 Pow Wow Book of Capitol
Area Council, Austin, Tex.)
All den members are clowns. The
largest is Jojo. The smallest, dressed like
Jojo, is concealed in the Shrinking Ma-
chine, a large carton with dials, levers,
gauges, and tape reels painted on it.
Jojo tells the other clowns about this

fabulous machine. They don't believe it
will shrink him, so he volunteers to
demonstrate. When he gets in, there are
loud noises, groans, metallic clatters,
and grunts. All is silent, then out steps
the small clown, who says in a small
voice, "I told you wise guys the thing
worked. And you know what? Even my
voice shrank."
CC
CIRCUS WAGON. Use a child's wagon
and a large carton to fit. Cut out sides
of carton as shown and then glue or
staple in cardboard bars. Paint red
with gold trim.
