Sponsors Can Help Pay
\our Way To
Explorer Congress
Even if you've been chosen as an
official delegate to represent your
post at this year's Explorer Congress
in Indianapolis, there's no guarantee
that you'll actually get there unless
you find a way to raise the necessary
money for the trip.
With this in mind—plus the high
cost of travel and accommodations
these days—your local council has
launched a special program to help
you meet your expenses by explaining
your problem to leading business
people in your area and urging them
to help sponsor participation in the
Congress by Explorers.
Key officials in chartered organiza-

ficer attending the Congress.
These "friends of Exploring" are
being told how vital it is that young
leaders have an opportunity to get
together and exchange information,
learn new techniques, and have an
opportunity to participate in the
democratic process. This information
is conveyed in a letter from John B.
Smith, president of Mayflower Van
Lines and chairman of the 1981
Congress.
Once the brochure has "broken the
ice" on the subject of sponsorship, it
will be up to you or other representa-
tives from your post to follow up with
personal calls on potential sponsors.
Good luck!
