Reorganized LDS
Church Emblem
Page CUB 3 DEC 78 of the 1978-79 Cub
Scout Program Helps refers incorrectly to
a new religious emblem provided by the
"Mormon" Church. "Mormon" refers to
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints with headquarters in Salt Lake
City. Instead, the emblem is presented by
the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints based in Indepen-
dence, Mo.
John Warnick
Director
"Mormon " Relationships
receives satisfaction from what he is
doing.
I am reminded of a statement by John
W. Gardner, former secretary of Health,
Education and Welfare: "The society
which scorns excellence in plumbing
because plumbing is a humble activity
and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy
because it is an exalted activity will have
neither good plumbing nor good philos-
ophy. Neither its pipes nor its theories
will hold water."
Marvin S. Hoflund

Cheyenne, Wyo.
Scoutmaster Lurie's response: The young
man involved had never even thought of
college until I suggested it. I agree that
auto mechanics is a highly worthy profes-
sion, but felt this young, man should at
rest between weekends and give more
in-depth thought to our "tickets." I am
proud to say that almost all of us have
earned and received our Wood Badge
beads.

In the May/June issue of Scouting

turn to page 7, column 2, line 26. My
atlas still shows Ottawa as the capital city
of Canada, not Montreal.
I have been reading the papers that
some factions in Canada are looking for
a change but did not know that it had
happened yet!
Just thought it might be well to correct
things for the record.
